How do I convince my parents to let me get a leopard gecko?

If you know a lot and have wanted it for a long time, your parents will see that you will actually commit to it. To show responsibilty, you have to actively commit to something for a long time, not just a few days if your parents need proof of your responsibility. Say that it will be YOUR pet and that you will take care of it, not your parents and that you will do what is necessary to keep it healthy.

Tell them that you like observing animals and why exactly you want a leopard gecko. Your money is probably enough to get a tank,heater and the stuff you need for it. You can have your parents finance a part of it.

Be aware that geckos need live food, so it is good if you have a monthly allowance or job.
