How do I switch between cable SDTV and OTA HDTV (antenna) on my new LCD TV?

If your set can handle OTA, an A-B switch and external antenna might do the trick. Assuming your new LCD set can be configured to deal with OTA signals, you could purchase an inexpensive A-B switch that goes in line with your cable connection. Radio Shack has one with a remote control that is a bit pricey ($40).

The switch would have the cable input on one side, a feed from either an inside antenna or an external antenna on the other and the output to your new TV's cable connection. You'd probably need to go through the TVs' internal menu settings in order for it to be set to OTA and locate the active DTV channels in your area. There's also the possibility that you would need to do this every time you switched back and forth between the 2 choices (cable or OTA).

There are remote boxes available for other types of inputs, but I haven't seen one for coax. However, if your LCD is new, I’d suspect it has other inputs available. Most of the newer cable boxes have options for DVI/HDMI and Component.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
