By inventing things we really don't need and charging us for it.

Science is merely knowledge. It is neither good nor bad.

I think it's like combining eastern and western medicine together; with both of them they work great. When one thinks it's better than the other, negates the other and all this ego #$%^&*( gets in the way, than it's bad. Science has made out lives better in so many ways, I've rather go to the bathroom in a toilet than behind a bush.....but there's so much more than science. It's not all or nothing, how about having science and respecting and loving the earth and each other as well.

I do believe that is possible, it just takes each one of us to do our part, one day at a time. Not easy, but possible. What's the saying, "don't throw the baby out with the bath water".

This does make sense right? .

Now that depends on what goals and objectives you have. Science gives us means to do things. What we do is up to us.

While the use of the knowledge that science uncovers can be for good and evil, it is the users of this knowledge who bear the moral responsibility for its use.

By disproving assumptions. And for all to assume makes a$$es out of everybody.

I have to laugh at because he calls "science" a "thing" but assumes that "God" is real.

It hasn't. "O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called" (1 Timothy 6:20). Science is a THING.

Things do nothing. Humans are what do, and what humans do is always evil because they almost never stop and ask God, first.

Science is a tool. As with any tool, there will always be those who misuse it. To say that this has been the case devoid of all benefit to mankind offered by science is to deny reality and shun the gifting of science you enjoy every day, including the computer upon which you asked this question.

If you would rather be sitting in a cave right now banging rocks on wood and thinking about going out and hunting down prey for your dinner, so be it. But it is erroneous to blame the body of information itself for any harm caused by it. The real culprits are ignorant human beings who have sought to use science for harm or personal gain.

You cannot blame science, anymore than you can blame a gun for shooting someone. It is pure human ignorance that misuses tools and with or without these tools, their will to cause harm would prove to hinder progress and make life miserable for the rest of us, even if it was just throwing rocks at us. Don't blame the rocks.

The eradication of smallpox is one of humanity's all time greatest achievements. Smallpox was responsible for an estimated 300–500 million deaths during the 20th century and has probably killed more people than any other viral disease.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
