It really depends. I graduated Arlington Beauty Academy and it took me about 3 years. You can choose many options.
You can attend full time and finish sooner, or you may attend part time hours and it will take longer to finish. Each beauty school is different. You may want to find the closest beauty school you may be interested in, and simply call to ask what type of options you may have.
I had to work while going through beauty school. Others may want to finish school quicker. Some beauty schools offer night classes.

Kealea, My girlfriend is on a beauty therapy course now. If you got 5 or more GCSEs C and above you can start on level 2 and then the next year do level 3, so it can take 2 years, or if you havent got that many GCSEs C or above then it would take 3 years.
Different states have different requirements. In Hawaii it took about two years to complete cosmetology school, in some states you can apprentice at a shop if someone will hire you. Call a beauty school near you and ask - most will help you get a Pell grant to pay for it.
