I wish people would understand that horses need alot of care and how expensive they actually are. You cant just throw a horse around and say "oh i'll get to grooming it later" or "animals don't have feeling" horses need love and care just as much as humans.
People should know that you do need money! People are always asking in magazines if owning horses is only for the wealthy and rich...and the answer is yes! If I saved all the money I have spend on my horses I be a freaking millionaire!
Oh boy... wow the answers above....you all probably hate me... I did not have any experience when I got my first horse O. O never had a riding lesson... never cared for a horse... never even rode a horse..... I just loved horses ever since I was born. And that was enough to convince my mom to move from the lakeside suburbs to the country, and get horses...than again, my mom is just as horse crazy as me if not more so that probably helped too.
Well, why not start by working at a horse farm now! Work out a deal so you can work for extra riding time or a partial lease on a horse. It will show your parents that you are very responsible and dedicated.
Parents always worry that they are going to buy their kid something and the kid will loose interest after a few months. However if your families financial situation isn't great it may not matter how badly you want the horse or how hard you are willing to work for it. Like you I have been riding since I was 6, taking lessons, working on horse farms to pay for showing/ leasing etc. However my parents just couldn't afford to buy me a horse.
As a kid I was always sad about it, however now as an adult and having to support myself I understand better. It would have just put too much financial pressure on my parents, especially if the horse was injured or became ill. Vet bills add up quick!
I am 26 now and I bought my first horse not very long ago. I leased him for a couple years before I bought him, and I was the happiest girl ever the day I signed his papers! Just spend as much time as you can with horses!
If you keep heading toward your goal it will happen, whether you are able to convince your parents, or if you just have to wait til you are an adult and can afford it on your own. Best wishes! :-).
Well, horses are a much bigger responsibility thank horses. Do you have time after school to go to the barn? Glad you know there are vet bills, supplies, farrier and etc. : but I would suggest leasing ahorse first, and that will show you how much time you need and if you can handle it.
I am 14 and have been around horses since I was like 1(my aunts are horse people) and I still do not have my own horse. I exercise ride horses rite now. Like I said before, I would suggest leasing a horse first.
Also what discipline do you ride? And will you be showing? Do you have a trainer?
I can add details if you let me know the answers to those questions. Hope I help! :).
I have many pets but the difference is that my parents are willing to go to the vets to make sure that it is nothing serious. . I think you should do some research of your own as soon as you can and see if anyone has the same problem etc. .
Then you should talk to your parents about everyonelses opinions and discuss the research or whatever you have looked up. Convince them that it could be something that the vets needs to look into, and that you want the best for them and you would like them to remain healthy etc. Wish you the best of luck, hope they are healthy! :).
If there's a real possibility that they'd stop paying your bills, don't do it without talking to them first. A college education is not a good exchange for a tattoo. Discuss with them what you want, where you want it, and why you want it.
They may just understand. That being said, I got all my tattoos without talking to my parents beforehand (and they still paid my tuition, insurance, etc). My mom had one little tattoo on her shoulder from when she was young and, after I started getting tattooed, jumped on the boat and now has a few more (including a matching one with me!) My dad on the other hand hates them, but still loves me no matter what.
Don't get a tattoo until you live under your own roof.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
