How was the King James version of the Bible canonized?

In 1604, King James I of England commissioned 54 scholars to make a new translation of the Bible. The did a translation from Hebrew and Greek, whick they completed and published in 1611. Because King James commissioned it, it became know as the "Authorized Version", and the official Bible of the Church of England.In most of the world, the copyright has expired, and this Bible is freely reproducable.
