I went to Ireland several years ago, for about a week... we were working on a special project, so we were really only around the Galway area. We loved Galway--it's a lovely small city. There is something really cool about being able to be centered somewhere--we sort of "got to know the neighborhood.

" The food was great! As far as I was concerned, our day trip to the Arun Islands was phenomenal. I'd go again in a red-hot minute.

BUT it's wonderful because it's so far removed from the normal world. We were on Inishmann (the middle island) and there are, as I recall, 3 motorized vehicles on the whole island. We did a lot of walking--there are a couple of fortress ruins there--and it was beautiful, green, and UTTERLY devoid of human-machine generated noise!

FABULOUS! But that isn't for all tastes. The other extraordinary place near Galway that I loved was the Cliffs of Moher.

You've seen 'em on film if you've seen Princecess Bride (they were used for the Cliffs Of Insanity). Amazing! There's a beautiful castle there, too.

We were there in June, and actually the OCtober weather will probably mirror it. In coastal areas, it'll be cool early in the morning, warm at mid-day, and cool at night. I layered!

You'll have what they call "soft" days--not exactly a mist, not exactly a rain, but it burns off before mid morning, usually. Have a wonderful trip, and I can recommend Heron Lodge (Chris and Sean, proprietors) if you overnight in Galway! I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
