I f the law of conservation of mass or energy is true, then when a human being dies, his body?

The conservation law stipulates that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It has to be conserved. It can be transformed into matter and back again - but there will never be more energy in the Cosmos than that created at the Big Bang.

There appears, however, to be a problem with this. The Universe is expanding at an ever increasing rate. This would imply 'new' energy. As for 'soul' think 'awareness of self' and you'll be a lot nearer the mark.

Interesting thought! There is no question in my mind that our bodies are not really us. They are just temporary vehicles for the real us.

You can call it soul, but I prefer to call it spirit. I believe our spirits are eternal. They have always existed and will never die.

The problem with saying this of course is that there is no way for me to prove it, because we can't see our spirits. We can only see our physical bodies and that is why some of us doubt a person is still alive after his/her body dies. Death is simply a separation of spirit and body.

I have good reasons to believe that our spirits will one day reunite with our bodies, except our bodies will then be perfect and immortal. That's what I like to call the soul: the spirit and body after the resurrection. We will then be given a place that best fits us, according to the attributes we developed during our short lives (the fact that we cannot see things that are made of the spirit makes our life test perfectly fair).

This belief motivates me to work on developing my character because my character is the only thing that I will take with me after this life.

Discover and define the nature of soul first, and then determine whether it is the seat of emotion, belief, thought.

I agree with everything SelfBetter said and that's rare for me. The spirit lives forever. However we are to ascend our bodies also as Yahshua did.

Our soul is our whole being. The body is to imprint information through the 5 senses. If we connect our spirit and body as one, we become whole.

We are all created as spiritual beings first. We are assigned a human body in order to fit in with the other humans while here on earth, how ever long that might be. We are set on a path of learning and apply our various skills and knowledge to see us through our time here.At the end of our time here our bodies, return to the earth, but our spirit returns to a spiritual life.

Hopefully,The good of what we have learned stays with us, and the bad is disgarded, unneeded. As for what you refer to as "Soul" is our conscience, directing us down our path of life while human on earth.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
