The water pump won't affect your ignition, but if your timing belt has slipped, it can cause the problem you're describing. It isn't good to try to drive a car with a slipped timing belt. I would contact the garage that did the work and tell them about the problem.

If it was done recently, they should redo their work - and get it right this time.

I drove the car for 2 days after the work was done. It was fine. Than literally went up the street and the car died on me.

I can't take it back due to I was stupid for letting a friend of a friend do the work. I took it to one mechanic and he couldn't figure it out but he did fix the timing belt. Mary71182 15 months ago .

Hmm. I wonder if they disconnected your battery long enough to lose the settings on your car's computer system. If the settings were corrupted, the car might "forget" how to adjust the air and gas flows.

I think you're going to have to take it to a dealer.

Yeah, it sounds like what Ichy and TLW is describing. You can still go to the dealer to have it fixed, but if the timing belt slippage did any damage, that could be expensive. And, heck, if the timing belt is in the engine like with foreign cars, you're looking at an expensive job anyway.Sorry..

Sounds to me like the timing belt was not installed correctly. Call your mechanic and tell them they're not done, yet.

Seeing your follow-up post, yes, the timing belt probably slipped. You need to have a mechanic fix it, and don't let that friend play with anything more complicated than an air cleaner.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
