You don't need to offer an explanation; simply say something to the effect that you are sorry, but you cannot attend the shower; and thank them for the invitation.

I always feel like I need to explain myself. I see here I can not and I can be polite. Thank you!

Thank you so much for wanting to include me on your special day. However, I am unable to attend due to a prior engagement. If it was on any other day I most certainly would have been happy to attend.

Dear Whomever, Thank you for the invitation to your shower, but I will be unable to attend due to a previous engagement. Sincerely, or with love , your truely, etc etc Your name .

Thanks, this is a good template. I tend to get overly wordy. Swirl_ 7 months ago .

Keep It Simple Stupid Learned that in the computer/printer repair field, it's served me well in many situations. ;-) .

You don't really have to give a reason. Just say something nice and personal along the lines of "I'm so sorry I won't be able to attend the shower. I'm sure it will be a wonderful day and I'll be thinking of you.

Thank you for inviting me! " - depending on how close you are to the hostess. Give someone a small compliment or good wishes and they'll forgive you quite a bit.

You could say that you are sorry but will be out of town at that time. You had better not be running around doing errands so that you bump into people who are attending. Or, you could just say that you are sorry but have another engagement/conflict on that date.

I don't live in the same town where the shower will be taking place, so it is possible to use that excuse. :) swirl_ 7 months ago .

A girl that I work with invited me to her baby shower - but, I don't like her, so I got out of that.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
