Cathy, call the pharmacist from whom you bought the medication - or failing that, ask your doctor. Even the best intentioned advice about medication, when it's from a person with no knowledge of the specifics in question (you haven't even told us what the medication is) can be dangerous. I love askville, but honestly, some questions are too important to be left to popular internet forums.

Follow doctor's orders If it's nitroglycerin, you keep it under your tongue until the pain is relieved. Get online, and look up that med, and look for the sublingual type of the med, and it will probably tell you how long for YOUR med. The doctor should have made it clear.

Until it is completely dissolved. Sublingual tablets are meant to be completely dissolved (under the tounge) and rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream through this route. This type of medication should be completely dissolved under the tounge until it is gone.

Depending on what type of medication you are taking, sometimes it can be swallowed as well (eg. Levbid hyocyamine Sublingual can also be swallowed...whereas Nitroglycerin should be dissolved fully under the tounge for the quickest relief).

Till it dissolves and is gone. Just like taken a nitro pill for heart condition. You body needs to absorb all the medicine.

Other wise why take it? .

1 A little more information is going to be needed. What does your doctor say? As far as I know, all under the tongue medication is meant to be held under the tongue until it is completely dissolved.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
