If a lamp compares favorably on luminance when driven on a power supply, will it also compare favorably when driven on a driver integrated circuit (IC)?

Not necessarily. A power supply provides "unlimited" power and can hide a lamp's inefficiency. This inefficiency will often become apparent through lower luminance output when driven on a "power limited" driver IC.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
