If marijuana were to be legalized, what drug would be next on the docket?

None. Alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis (marijuana) are the traditional "gateway drugs". Two are legal, one is not.So to legalize the third would complete the triumvirate of "gateway drugs" and likely would not lead to further legalization of currently illegal drugs.

That does not mean it should be done, simply means that the slippery slope plea probably doesn't apply. Cocaine is a hard drug... so not it. Ecstasy would be the next most likely choice (typically labeled a soft drug) but Ecstasy doesn't claim any medicinal benefit.

So, I say none.

I would say hash or shrooms. I don't think cocaine, heroine, ecstasy/mdma, lsd, meth, pcp...will ever be legalized. I'm glad for that.

They are, however, testing mdma as a way to help people with PTSD and having good results. Beside the point.

Mmm I don't think a synthetic drug like cocaine would be legalized anytime in the near future...besides its much more addicting than marijuana and has a far more negative reputation amongst the general public.

Marijuana should not be legalized at all, we have enough high drunks driving we do not need to add another drug; ( not like it already is behind the wheel) The next drug would be Herion since they claim Marijuana is healing I am sure they will say the same about the next drug and the next. Society is stupid to think that legalizing drugs would make life better, for who? The poor man who is looking for a high will do so by any means necessary; crime would soar to heights beyound measure.

I would have to move to Kansas or Idaho somewhere safe in the back hills . City life would be history for me.

Making Marijuana legal has nothing to do with making stopping those people that already take it. Making it illegal is not the same as stopping its use, and likewise making it legal is not changing those people that are already taking it. My point is that legality and use are not the same.

I also agree with Dave, Alcohol, Tobacco and MJ are sibling drugs. Maybe even the Three Musketeers, all for one and one for all. To answer the question, I don't know that there would have to be another drug to legalize.

First let me speak about the myth of Gateway drugs. One does not naturally gravitate to another hierarchy of the type of drugs they choose to use. It is only the strength of a persons will that allows them to make the decision to experiment with drugs of a more potent nature.

There is no chemical reaction that would make you choose to try to reach a higher plane. It simply comes down to ones choice or will or lack thereof. The next big push will probably be to legalize all drugs, which will certainly cause all whole lot of controversy.

I think Shrooms. These shrooms should be cultivated properly to avoid people getting poisonous ones. I haven't read anything negative about eating shrooms (although I haven't tried one) but I do not know either if it has medical benefits other than giving you a religious experience.Lol.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
