You said myself and one other, as an adult my space could fit two children. I would sacrifice my place and allow all three children to board. The adults have a better chance of survival in the water than the children and the children have the most life left to live.It is beyond me how any parent could stand by an board a life raft leaving their children to drown.
I also think since my family in entirety was born and raised in Alaska our chance of survival would be higher anyway as "cold" is not the same to an Alaskan. Reminds me about a tourist at the lake a few days ago. We were all there swimming and he pulled up to test his boat before he hit the river, he asked me if it was cold today and I said no, he put his foot in, shivered and said it was California born cold.
Lol (He had just tripped and fell in over his head in the photo).
I agree I would give up my space for the three kids and throw in the pet. How could you stay on board and leave your kids looking at you. But the better probability would be I would get my family on even if I had to put others off.
Desperate times are desperate measures. Anyione in those waters would freeze to death so that was not an option.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
