Was The Decision To Have Women And Children On Lifeboats In A Sinking Titanic Fair?

In those days it was women who raised the children, there were no “stay-at-home-dads. ” Women and children were protected and cared for because it was important for society to continue through the descendents of the men. Without descendant’s men felt that they were not abiding by the rules, "Be fruitful and multiply."

What is fair to some is not fair to others. Judgment needs to refer to the period when things happened and the prevailing thoughts of the time. Story is rough on most and generally nothing is "fair" or "just" to everyone. So, yes, it was fair and just for that time.

Maybe not - but it was standard practice for the time.

What was unfair was the locking of the gates for third class, condemning many of them to death just because of their socioeconomic status.

Readly now, more first class men survived than third class children. Nothing has changed, has it?

If I were the captain, I would had more lifeboats.

I think it was fair, given the circumstances. What was not fair was that the rich got on the lifeboats and the poor mostly died.

I entirely believe this was a fair decision, in my opinion children's lives are just starting and still have much potential, after some research I have found a few that had actually become quite sucessful. I also know that I greatly respect women and would sacrifice myself to save my wife and also know that a child is more attached to a mother and mothers would be able to comfort a child better then a father. I'm not saying this is the case in all cases but a mother can provide more for a child.

However it's hard to say what would have happened at the time because you would have alot more stress on you.

Great Question! I couldn't live with myself to do it any other way. I've always hoped if I knew I was going to die I would make my sacrifice count for something.

If you're going to die anyway, die a hero!Peace.

If I was the captain, I would have had them, try to patch the hole enough for the ship to stay afloat. The ship did not have to sink as intended lamo . Having women and children go first is always always!

Important!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
