I'm considering traveling abroad for my last quarter of college. Europe or Asia? And why?
I can't decide between Europe (I'd be going to either the UK or France), or Japan, specifically the Tokyo area. Assume language is not a factor in my decision. I'm interested in larger schools (acreage) and I'm a pure mathematics major. My areas of interest are topology, differential equations and analysis.

I'd go for asia As I am living in Europe, You might think I am biassed to say Europe, but I am not. Asia is where things are happening now, and within 10 years, China and Japan will be the new superpowers. Education is at an enormously high standard already, and is expected to become even higher.
Further, japanese students are very eager to learn, and universities are thiving because of this. So, if you want an inspiring and competetive environment to study, I'd choose Asia. Sources: my opinion .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
