I'm looking at certain views posted on Askville and think: gee, Askville is a community where one can enjoy the good. As with any community, Askville is surely a mixed bunch. How do the posters who think "Askville has had its day and all the good people have left"work that out?

Are the good and friendly posts still the majority? Asked by byrrha 17 months ago Similar questions: views posted Askville gee community enjoy Amazon > Askville.

Maybe not the majority, but it doesn't take me all that much effort to avoid interacting with any Community ..... members except the ones that i've found pleasant and enjoyable, so it really doesn't cause me a problem, yet, to know that there are some people here whose company I would not keep voluntarily.

My arrival in AV was a couple of months ago so, I have no basis of comparison. It seems to me that, there is a natural ebb and flow to everything--including online social chat sites. Perhaps there were more people initially, maybe greater enthusiasm and a flurry of asking and answering by a diverse group.

That rhythm into which all things eventually settle may be what is perceived here. Almost all of the postings I've read have been friendly. There are bound to be disagreements and contrasting points of view.

I think the majority of AVers are the 'good people'.

1 There are still good people here. Hopefully more nice people will come.

2 Well, there's two different Askvilles. We got the folks who think this is Amazon Customer Service (most of them don't have avatars) who want to know where their order is, and the folks that ask a question and never come back. And then we have the social network people who say hi and want to discuss things and have fun.

I think it's about evenly divided.

" "I enjoy questions be they serious or not--Yes, that is what makes ASKVILLE Great! " "Other than the people/community, what is the best feature of Askville?

I enjoy questions be they serious or not--Yes, that is what makes ASKVILLE Great!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
