Let's put it this way Obama uses these 2 things to blame on Republicans and it's a political move to cause recipients to blame the republican party for Government cuts, how about expenditures on vehicles provided to Congress, Hotel rooms provided to congressional members, special perks the government provides the Senate and House of Rep. I bet if Obama cuts all the perks they the politicians receive that probably will save 500 billion alone by itself! Every politician have the same interns and helpers, can't use 747's to bring politicians across the country for the weekend MRS Pelosi!

If regular people would trim the budge this way we could do away probably with 5 to 600 Billion dollars!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
