Some states require it and some don't. For example, Illinois requires it but you have to register with the Department of Corrections and they will send you a notice. Each state has its own laws (or lack thereof) on this issue.

Jonr501 has it correct...Some states do, Texas is one. You must register with the Dpt. Of Corrections and they will notify you.It is your responsibility to be sure they have your correct address at all times.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
