You can take the King County Metro for $1.25 one way from Renton to Pike Place. Question: Is there a public transportation option to get from Renton, WA to Pike Place Market in Seattle, WA? I'll be there on a business trip, but won't have a rental car.

Answer: You can take the King County Metro for $1.25 one way from Renton to Pike Place. This website: http://tripplanner.metrokc.gov/cgi-bin/itin_page.pl has pretty good information on catching the local bus. Provide Renton, WA for the starting point, and 1501 Pike Place for the destination and you'll see a bunch of options.

You'll have to select the preferred Renton starting point, since I don't know where you are planning to board. There are a couple routes which cover the North-South route from Renton to Seattle's downtown area. In particular, you can take the MT-101 or MT-106.

A one-way ticket will cost $1.25 and takes about 45 to 60 minutes. It's a very short walk to Pike Place from 3rd & Union. At Pike Place, there will likely be taxis, although it will be very expensive to use that method to return to Renton.

I hope this helps. Sources: http://tripplanner.metrokc.gov/cgi-bin/itin_page.pl .
