Is there a way to find crime rates by neighborhood?

My mom wants us to move into a cute little house on the other side of town. Splitting the rent would be cheaper for us and we would have more space. Problem is, that neighborhood is not the best.

I'm waffling on the decision. I know how to find crime statistics for the whole city but everyone knows that all cities have different crimes/rates by neighborhood. Any advice?

Local Police is best bet I have seen crime rates in various places but they are usually by state, region or metro area. Your local police department probably tracks crime rates by neighborhood, now whether they will give that out to folks is another question. You might check and see if they have it available on your city website, or police department website.

Of course you can just call the police department, their community relations folks are probably best bet. Sources: personal knowledge .

My hometown police actually had a map drawn into sections. In my hometown you could go to the police station and ask for a map of the city that would show how many crimes in each section. I have no idea if your police do the same, but I did have to go in to the department to see it.

Plus, most cops already know which area gets the most calls. OK, there are other sources to let you know how safe an area really is. If you have the time then I recommend asking those that deliver there.

The mail carrier is there everyday. If you see one in the neighborhood you can ask them about it. The pizza delivery companies know all about which neighbors are safer than others.

Call a few of them up and ask to speak to an experienced driver. Tell them the address. If local stores don’t deliver to that area or don’t deliver after nightfall then that is a warning.(I recommend not calling during their dinner rush which is usually 6-9) Also, you can always meet the neighbors and ask them.

Good luck! .

2 yes, I did. More specifically from Joseph Campbell's book "The Hero with a Thousand Faces". One of his footnotes defines mabinog as a bard's apprentice.

I thought that was interesting and part of my heritage is Welsh so I took it as my screen name.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
