My family is on an utility saving spree. What have you done to save money on your electric, gas?

Change Incandescent light bulb to Fluorescent light or LED light. I cut my utility bill significantly after the change. Since you have digital thermostat, set timer to your AC/heat circulation.

Like AmandaLu mentioned, any electronic on/off will use electricity if plugged in. Unplugging TV's, computers and other electric hogs while not in use will help save. Replacing incandescents with CFL's has saved me roughly $15 per room in my house yearly.

Good luck to you.

In each room that has no ceiling light, the light switch turns on the juice to one of your plug-ins. I use a power strip in that plug-in, hooking up my floor lamp and all the electrical equipment that doesn't need darkness. So every time I leave the room and switch off the light, the rest of the equipment goes off too.As for the landscape, check my hub on nozzles.

You may be able to replace the ones you have with more efficient ones: hubpages.com/hub/Irrigation-System-Nozzles.

One thing people don't always realize is that electronic devices use electricity when they are plugged in, even if they are turned off. If you aren't using your television, computer, and other large electricity users (and small things like toasters and blenders too) unplug them and you can save on your electric bill.

Check the weather striping around the doors and windows and make sure you get the furnace clean and ready for winter. I have a wood stove and I collect pallets and cut them up and last winter it only cost me $30.00 to heat my home and it was hot in here. Make sure the kids shut the lights off and computer when not in use.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
