My HD Tv audio out put is hdml but my stereo receiver input is rca. How do I make this work?

Buy a new receiver. HDMI is digital. RCA is analog.

Totally different technologies. You could get an HDMI to Analog convertor, but what's the point? For the same money, you can get an HDMI-capable audio controller.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
