I'm with Jim on this one... Since you aren't familiar with the territory i'd recommend borrowing a photography guide book from the local library...a decent book will guide you through the different types of cameras and help you with the functions and specifications...cameras are coming with technology nowadays like built in wi-fi and GPS...and it's best to work out in advance the features you would find useful before making a 'shortlist'...i'd also recommend visiting a specialised camera dealer and getting the cameras on your shortlist demonstrated - the way a camera feels and handles is very 'influential' when deciding which brand suits you best... It can be difficult to work out which features are the most useful...I tend to stick with cameras that don't have all the latest bells and whistles...i'm only interested in 'image quality' and decent reliable performance....I personally use a Nikon D5100 and it covers most bases for me really well...it's not that expensive...and I would recommend it as a great choice for 'newcomers'... Canon, Pentax/Ricoh and Sony all make decent 'kit' too...and it's worth that visit to the camera dealer to find the brand that hits your spot.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
