I heard Obama say more than once that he voted against the Iraqui war when Clinton voted for it. He used that in his campaign against Clinton. I did not realize he was not even in the Senate at that time.

I wonder why Clinton didn't point that out during the campaign.

I clearly remember his smug smile when he told Clinton he did not vote for the war. Only later I found out he was still an Illinois State Senatore at the tim I wondere too why her advisors had not armed her with that knowlege and a snappy comeback that would done him serious harm in my opinion newbie3087629 12 months ago .

Your citation, please, that he claimed to "vote" against the war.

You can go to Google and look it up for yourself just like I did. I have had several replies agreeing that they heard the statement in a debate with newbie3087629 12 months ago .

Uhm, no, you made the claim, YOU provide the citation. The burdon of proof is on you. I have absolutely no reason to believe that you or anyone else heard it.

If it's so easy to prove, do so. Otherwise, you're just another right-wing lunatic spouting falsehoods - and those are not people I enjoy responding to.

Did not know that, or pay attention to that. Wasnt that part of his campaigning? .

Google from USA today. I remember one his biggest points when debatin lliary was saying that he did not vote for the war. Basically true but highly and purposely misleading.

You and I never voted on it either. President Obama opposed the war even though he did not get in the US Senate until 2004. Wikipedia writes:"Obama was an early opponent of the George W. Bush administration's 2003 invasion of Iraq.60 On October 2, 2002, the day President Bush and Congress agreed on the joint resolution authorizing the Iraq War,61 Obama addressed the first high-profile Chicago anti-Iraq War rally,62 and spoke out against the war.63 He addressed another anti-war rally in March 2003 and told the crowd that "it's not too late" to stop the war."Since he has been in the Presidency he has favored moves to support our allies in Iraq.

Iraq is over - for all practical purposes. Leave it to our State Department. What is important is our policy on Afghanistan.

The President also expresed himself on that war.

At the time of the election, it was all over the news that he wasn't a Senator at the time. Even llary Clinton in one of her speeches said something along the lines of "and Senator Obama gave a speech against the war in '02" when discussing his lack of qualifications for the job which he now holds and will hopefully quit holding in 2013.

That's odd because he never said that he voted against it, simply that he opposed it. In 2002 he spoke at a Chicago anti-war rally. This is what he is referring to.

Check your facts instead of believing whatever FoxNews and right-wing mouthpieces assert as the truth. Com/truth-o-meter/statements/2007/sep/28/barack-obama/obama-has-consistently-opposed-the-war.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
