I have your answer: Americans have suffered through the Presidential Administrations of Ronald Reagan, George Bush Jr and George Bush Sr. In each of these presidential administrations, 20 miserable years now with only a brief respite with President Clinton, these men have LOWERED taxes for the wealthiest of Americans, worked hard to ELIMINATE laws that regulated banking, business and finance and have generally encouraged the life savings, the pensions and the mortgages of Americans to be looted without any punishment. As Americans, we learned a bitter lesson with the Great Depression when banking was not regulated and banks closed, taking the savings of millions of Americans, never to open again.
People were buying stocks "on margin" without any real capitol behind the purchase and when stocks failed and the money came due, there was none. Today, we have had so many financial institutions fail because of poor management but the executives who left those failed businesses had golden parachutes, big bonuses and plenty of money....and don't forget the LOWER tax rate for the wealthy that wasn't applied to the working middle class. Why are they protesting?
They are protesting to show our government that letting banking, business and finance run wild without any laws or restrictions won't be tolerated anymore and the TAX SYSTEM has to be made equitable. Good question.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
