Open Thread: Norman Rockwell Freedom of Speech and Paul Krugman's editorial?

Yes I read his editorial. I also researched it for a while. As far as his editoral is concerned, I have gotten better wisdom out of comic books.

He should be ashamed. He laid the blame on racial bias and made other accusations to party members which I do not feel were appropriate. He stated in his editoral (For the most part, the protesters appear to be genuinely angry.

The question is, what are they angry about? ) Then he stated (But they’re probably reacting less to what Mr. Obama is doing, or even to what they’ve heard about what he’s doing, than to who he is. ) Would you consider this a racial statement?

Number 1, If he thinks the protestors are genuine and is concerned about what they are mad about, why did he not try to find out. Why didn't he go and observe the protesters and ask them for there reasons? S editoral in my sole opinion is garbage, a lack of effort and information and finger pointing for an excuse.No.2 As far as the increasing protests are concerned, I believe that when the goverment started pushing things thru to be passed, such as the Bank bail-outs and then finding out later that they had absolutely no control and no way to account to the american people for there actions they woke a lot of Americans up.

Now Americans want to know more about what they are doing and the repercussions on them as tax payers. The health reform bill is the target of protest, has Washington tried to shove it thru? In my judgement YES.

Looking at there current track record, it is not very good. Do you think our Congress can come up with a nation wide health care plan for all the American people in a short number of days and have a proficient plan? I do not.

I believe that the protests will continue untill the American public is better informed on this and has time to weigh the factors. I think that revising the plan and changing it when there were errors found would greatly out weigh the costs of taking the time to go over it and prepair it and then present it to the American people. I believe that proper planning is the key to success.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
