Questions on decorative rubber stamps I see decorative rubber stamps for sale in stores and catalogues. What I don't understand is how one ends up with a colorful design. Do you have to "paint" the stamp before stamping it onto the paper?
Or do you just do the stamp in black and white and then color it in with something (what? )? I have seen some cute ones but never bought due to this puzzlement! Thanks.

You can do several things.. You can get a striped pad and the design will have several colors, or you can use markers to "paint the designs on. I found that when I used different color stamp pads, the colors built up, and then I could add extra to the parts where I wanted them to be, but sometimes the randomness that appeared was just wonderful!. You can also put acrylic paint on a paper plate, and stamp into it, and then you can have different colors than the usual stamp pads.
Also, you can use a brayer to roll on color to your block and last, yes, you can color them in or watercolor over, or use colored markers. Have fun! .
3 You can do all of the above. You can also stamp, then sprinkle with embossing powder, shake off the excess and use a heat gun on it. It will then look embossed.
If you are interested, send me a message an I can send you a link to a company that I used to work for. I don't want anyone to think I'm spamming, so I won't post it here. You can also do a google search for art rubber stamps and it should lead you to sites that will show you how it's done.
On a sad note, I worked for this place, could have any stamp or supply I wanted and was bored to death with the whole hobby! I tried it a couple of times so I could help with demos, but ay-yi-yi, it was not my bag. Luckily I figured this out before I had taken more than a few stamps!

I've noticed some folks make this a job or a hobby. " "What is the best online stamps deal? " "where can I find obsolete rubber stamps?" "What do my classified rubber stamps mean?
"declassify upon injection" and "stand alone"" "Is there a page on the web where you can see the value of stamps. I have stamps that do not have the value.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
