Republicans always talk about cutting government spending, what exactly do you want to cut?

The can't propose cuts in Medicare because they have just told us that it would mean setting up death panels to kill grandma.

There are millions of people on Medicare and SS. They paid into it all their working lives. That is the problem with social programs.

There is no way to get rid of them. When these laws were enacted, the life expectancy was much, much lower. Medicare was passed in 1965 when life expectancy was around 70.

Add to that they knew the boomer generation would be using it eventually. The result of Medicare was a huge increase in the cost of health care for everyone. "Myth #1: Medicare has reduced seniors' out-of-pocket costs.

Fact: In 1965, the Medicare program was sold to the American people as the best way to help reduce seniors' out-of-pocket health care costs. Yet after it was created, costs skyrocketed and by 1985, Rep. Claude Pepper (Dem.

-FL) reported that Medicare beneficiaries were paying 20 percent of their income for health care, the same as in 1964--the year before Medicare was passed.3 Seniors end up paying more for health care when costs skyrocket under a government-financed monopoly for medical care. All told, seniors' out-of-pocket health care costs have gown from $4.5 billion in 1977 to over $26 billion today." http://www.forhealthfreedom.org/Publicat... Medicare makes health care more expensive for all, even the seniors.

We might all be better off with no health insurance rather than all these government programs. The government needs to get out of health care and let the free market deal with it. It might just level off very nicely.

The more the government is involved in our personal lives, the more expensive everything will become. Before such programs, health care was much cheaper. The medical community does not try to keep their expenses down.

They think because insurance will pay it, they can pad the kitty. The government is treated the same way. They see such institutions as a bottomless pit of money and take them for all they can get.

He got mocked for the freeze because he did it after he raised the debt ceiling and already way, way overspent. Health care should be studied at the root, right at the health care institutions themselves. What are they doing that causes health care to cost more and more.

Do you honestly believe the insurance companies are just raising their rates out of greed. I've got a bridge I'll sell you cheap.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
