You are sooo right Rocketeer, but don't forget the kiddies too. In nice weather many people are tempted to take their pets with them in the car while they travel or run errands. But during warm weather, the inside of your car can reach 120 degrees in a matter of minutes, even if you're parked in the shade.
This can mean real trouble for your companion animals left in the car. Dogs and cats can't perspire (don't know about skunks) and can only dispel heat by panting and through the pads of their feet. Pets who are left in hot cars even briefly can suffer from heat exhaustion, heat stroke, brain damage, and can even die.
Don't think that just because you'll be gone "just a minute" that your pet will be safe while you're gone; even an air-conditioned car with the motor off isn't healthy for your pet. To avoid any chance that your pet will succumb to the heat of a car this summer, be sure to play it safe by leaving your pet cool and refreshed at home while you're on the road. And if you do happen to see a pet in a car alone during the hot summer months, alert the management of the store where the car is parked.
If the owner does not return promptly, call local animal control or the police department immediately. So far in 2010, 17 children have died in the United States while alone in a vehicle, and the summer is just getting under way. A child's body can heat up three to five times faster than an adult's body.
Knowing this, it may take just a few minutes in a hot car before a child can become overheated. In most cases, the kids left in cars are locked in or are infants in baby seats who can't get out, further compounding the problem. Some people claim that they forgot their child was with them, thinking the child was with another person.
Well you can fix that by placing your important items that you won't forget, like a purse, cell phone, briefcase of gym bag near the child in the car. This will force you to be near the child while retrieving these items and you will be less likely to “forget” about the child being with you.
I will not only second and third that, but last week on my block, this little puppy was in the car. There was a heat wave at the time and I passed by the car and saw the pup, groggy and whimpering. I called the police.
There was a few people passing by, but no one wanted to break the window to get in because of a fear of being arrested by the police and being sued by the owner. We all called the police and the aspca at the ame time. Thank God, the police station is not too far away and they did break into the car and rescued the puppy.
The pup was put into the air conditioned police car and we gave the puppy water and someone put a bowl of ice water to cool off the puppy. The aspca came and took the dog and I believe left the owner a citation. The dog must not have been there long because it would have died.
Remember don’t leave your animal in the car plus, don’t leave your babies in the car in the summer.
Like the skunk comment. Absolutely do not leave any living thing locked in a hot car, especially your kids and when walking your dog have water available for them. Some kind merchants here place a water trough outside their stores for dogs.
I thought that was a wonderful gesture. One of our doormen was watering down the sidewalk and gave a dog a drink from the running hose. It was comical and kind and the owner appreciated it..
I mean, that could save me six bucks right there, and Wal-Mart is all about saving money.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
