Does The Salvation Army think enough is being done to raise awareness, to rescue people from traffickers, and to deal with those who traffic other human beings? Could the Government be doing more?

Changes in law, the formation of the United Kingdom Human Trafficking Centre (UKHTC) as the central coordinating body, the police operations of Pentameter 1 and 2, and the signing of the Council of Europe Convention have all happened in the last two years. Whether anti-trafficking activity will continue as core activity within the police force has yet to be seen, but having a central body (UKHTC) is helpful. Some traffickers have been arrested and sentenced.

There are still areas of response to be developed in keeping with the Convention. Whilst Government are working towards fulfilling the requirements of the Convention, that is that once a person has been identified as being trafficked they will then be allowed a reflection period greater than that stated in the Convention with the opportunity to extend where appropriate. In addition, a temporary residence permit system will allow for the victim to receive care that so far has either been provided by the goodwill of local GPs and ... more.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
