Should Alcatraz be used for terror suspects/detainees?

Haha, no way would that work. First of all, anyone who has access to the story channel knows all about how to escape from Alcatraz. Secondly, Alcatraz is really old, and it would cost A LOT to get it back into working order.

On top of that, there are less than 300 detainees last I heard, and spending all that money would be a waste. Plus, if we keep them here on American soil, that grants them certain rights that, even though I don't agree with it, defeats the purpose of Guantanamo Bay, not to mention the danger of housing people suspected of wanting to destroy us right in our own back yard. Not safe, cost effective, or really that necessary, so long as we are successful in pawning them off on other countries, which I believe is the plan.

Obviously, the congressmen don't recognize how much money from tourism Alcatraz pulls in. Trip there are ALWAYS booked well in advance. Then again... this could ADD to the attraction!

Step right up! The "detainees" should be set free.

No. If we cannot prosecute them in our justice system and they are not Prisoners of War then we need to deal with them in an international court.

That seems silly, and frankly it's just unreallistic.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
