Similar questions: Americans pre existing conditions interfere ability.
(Reuters) – As many as 129 million Americans under age 65 have health problems that could hurt their ability to obtain health insurance or force them to pay higher premiums, a U.S. government study said on Tuesday. "Most stil think their employers will continue to cover them ad infinitum. They can't conceive of finding themselves without employment coverage or without a job.
And they simply do not care about anyone but themselves.
And they simply do not care about anyone but themselves. "That's certainly a political ideology there... Schelli 11 months ago .
These are not my words:Tomorrow, House Republicans led by John Boehner will vote on the repeal of health reform -- moving to end the law that keeps insurance companies in check. From denying coverage to children with pre-existing conditions, to pursuing profits with no accountability, to raising rates arbitrarily on families and businesses and canceling coverage when people get sick -- insurers would return to promoting their own financial health...And with repeal estimated to add $230 billion to the deficit over the next 10 years, the Republicans' first agenda item delays our economic recovery and does nothing to create jobs. Repealing the Affordable Care Act is bad for our health, our economy, and our country .
The first thing to note is that most of those people do, in fact, have health insurance, since something like 85% of Americans do. That means at least 70% of those with pre-existing conditions have health coverage, and probably higher, since at least some of those uncovered could be covered but choose not to. The problem is really about the future coverage, which is much murkier.
Health care costs are rising, employers are passing more of the cost on to employees, and more people are falling out. The general Republican answer is to try to bring down costs with a market-based solution. That may include decoupling health care from employment, making the market much freer.
That will probably bring down the price, making it easier to find cheap insurance. But there are a number of problems with that plan. The number of pre-existing conditions opens it up to adverse selection.
Competing health care firms want to insure only healthy people for maximum profits. Existing health care reforms (HIPAA and COBRA) interfere with the free market already, but nobody would stand for those to go by the wayside. But it still leaves gaps for those who lose coverage due to losing their jobs, even if health care is decoupled.
All of this is honestly by the wayside, since there isn't any chance of the Republicans passing anything. The veto and the filibuster (not to mention their minority in the Senate) guarantee that. So we may not even get a serious discussion about it; it's all for show.
Still, we could discuss it among ourselves if we like, purely for amusement. The really relevant factor is that half of Americans are already sick in a way that costs money. No matter what scheme you put together, is there enough money to cope with all of those sick people?
LOL. They don't want to break up their base; seriously... And Republicans have never been about helping Americans - the exist to help the rich, powerful and corporations. Schelli 11 months ago .
LOL. They don't want to break up their base; seriously... And Republicans have never been about helping Americans - the exist to help the rich, powerful and corporations. Not true: back at the time of emancipation, it was the republicans who were the left wing liberals, and the democrats who were the right wing conservatives.
More than half are Celiac...but tests to diagnose it may not work...so I would say almost all people have preexisting conditions. No one should be treated differently.

I agree. I was merely being facetious. Rhine44 55 months ago.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
