Super glue to fix broken glasses?

You say you are in the uk, the old UK wiring colours live was red now brown, neutral black now blue earth is bare cables with green/yellow stripe sleeving. As has been suggested the previous light was a 3 plate ceiling rose to feed other rooms with a junction plate to loop the live down to a light switch and a switch wire back to the light. Unfortunately electricians often use a red and black twin cable (bare earth) to take a live to a switch and don't mark the live switch wire.

You in connecting all the blacks together had a dead short neutral to live (switch wire black) You must now put the correct 5A fuse wire in that lighting fuse disconnect all the wiring to the light, then connect all reds together on a separate plastic strip connector. Identify the neutral and black switch wire with a test lamp or multi volt meter, the switch wire to 1 terminal on the light all neutrals to the other all earth's together with sleeving.
