The SD card slot doesn't seem to work on my ASUS K50I ,and can't find anything out on my desktop,is there another way?

Yes I would check your system hardware in the control panel firstly to see if it is recognised and secondly to ensure that the drivers are correct, no exclamation mark or red cross. If that checks out, you could have a dirty or damaged contact in the reader. As it is quite a new notebook it must be under guarantee so I would be reluctant to meddle too much.It might be a better option to have it checked while still warranted.
