Tipped vs untipped questions?

I always remember this golden rule of thumb: You get what you pay for. When you post a tip to questions, you're not only going to get more answers, you'll also get longer, better researched, more helpful answers. You invest in getting that great answer.

And I really keep this in mind any time I ask a question. For questions with answers that don't matter as much and are just for fun, meh, I might not tip. As for answering?

I'm happy to answer non-tipped questions whenever I can. I realize not everyone can afford big tips, and the non-tipped questions still serve a purpose on this site. There is a certain need for question volume and variety.

Plus those very users who ask untipped questions may turn around and really positively contribute to an answer or two elsewhere. Here's the catch though: No, I'm not gong to bend over backward to launch into lengthy explanations for untipped answers. For a tip?

I'll hold the person's hand and walk them through how to make toast or flip a light switch, if they need me to. For no tip? Meh.

" Don't feel this way, not every question is a $1 question (See Batman above) & you may find that you still get fairly high quality answers for a $0.37 as the people answering may just be answering for the love of the topic. I like to ask different questions sometimes for self improvement, but just as often just for fun.

Have fun with Mahalo's tipped and untipped questions that is what they are for.
