Your solution is a reasonable one. Its pretty simple to implement (a GUID that is stored in a SQL table along with a timeout value). I've used this approach myself in a number of places.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
