Was emperor Constantine the first christain emperor?

To add to the above, Constantine was a supporter of Christianity, though he didn't convert until he was on his deathbed. (Waiting till then was actually a common practice.) There was only one non-Christian emperor after him, called Julian the Apostate. (Apostate meaning non-Christian.)...one of the last strong Western emperors.

He ruled for only two years (around 360), but made quite a mark; mounting an ambitious invasion against Rome's greatest enemy at the time, Persia. He returned from the war, dying from wounds incurred there. There's controversy over whether he was killed by a Persian (since no soldier came up to ask for the bounty), or a Roman; since he renewed persecution of the Christians.

Since he thought that the empire was declining because of Christianity, and was the last person who tried to change this, he quite stands out. More.
