HOWEVER the Spartan art of war involved learning music, art, rhetoric, PHILOSOPHY amongst many other things. So technically all Spartiates were philosophers to some degree the Spartans were a fighting culture but were also well educated and would have been taught philosopy but battle and fighting skill would have came first in their culture.
