What could cause my condensor coils on my outdoor unit to close uniformly in the same direction?

There is nothing mechanical on your outdoor unit that will cause the fins on the coil to bend. The only way those fins can be bent is by pressure exerted on them. Those fins are delicate and can be bent with a small amount of pressure.

Even wiping them or brushing them with a stiff brush can damage them. Most all exterior units have a grate or covering around the outside of your unit to protect them from this type of damage. This type of damage can occur with a strong stream of water.

A water hose with a sprayer attachment can also do the same type of damage that the second repairman noted. It sounds like someone attempted to "clean" them but did a little more damage than good.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
