The term was introduced by Nobuyuki Takahashi in 1984. Many times in a year, a group of anime fanatics (called otaku in Japanese) would come together in one place, and they would wear their favorite anime character’s costumes and act out as one. Cosplay is not just role play, but in reality a gathering of ideas, talents and personalities. Cosplay has invaded a lot of places and culture.
