If you're looking for a real starter kit, try something like this Westcott Monolight Studio Kit 1$114.95Portable Studio - Kit 1 includes a 45" Halo and a free Silver/White 30" Illuminator Reflector plus additional savings! It offers professional lighting results with just two light modifying components. The Halo 45" Light Modifier softens the main light and provides 140o of light spread on your subject.

Kit 1 is available in the Halo Standard model and the Halo Mono model for power or mono lights. To soften the shadows, the Silver/White Illuminator Reflector provides reflected fill light. For easy set up, take down and portability, the Halo Light Modifier is built on an umbrella frame and uses the umbrella receptacle on the light - no speed ring is necessary.

The 30" Illuminator Reflector folds down to 1/3 its size and stores in its own circular bag. http://www.precision-camera.com/product/W1060But for something a little nicer but still inexpensive, try this one:Photogenic StudioMax III Pro Kit - 160 Watt/Second Monolight Sync Cord, Umbrella (120V AC)B&H# PHSM3P1600K B&H KitOur Price: $ 194.50The StudioMax III Series from Photogenic optimizes speed, and power. Garage sale! Pennysaver! Maybe EBay!

It is common for someone to buy photographic equipment, thinking that they will establish a studio, only to have it "not work out". Check out second hand stores, newspaper advertisements, even garage sales. Also take a look at your local 'free papers', or the classified mail ads (we have the Pennysaver and Recycler here in Southern California).

Ask about the condition of the items, and how much it's been used. Always inspect it in person before paying the seller. Don't be surprised to find nearly unused equipment, or something that has been sitting in a garage for a few years, and can be bought cheap because it is dirty.

Sometimes you can buy items at 5-10% of retail from someone who just wants to get rid of it. EBay might also be a possibility for you here, too, but umbrellas, even when folded for storage, tend to be big enough that shipping is an issue. If you live anywhere near a large city, then try to buy direct from a private seller.

Hope this helps! Sources: My Opinion .

I would like to learn more about photography.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
