Great feed back as well as inspiration from others comments.
I write a lot of informational articles and reviews. The most rewarding of the informational articles are the ones I've written on tropical fish, they're one of my favorite subjects because there's so much misinformation out there. When people comment to tell me how much I've helped with their fish it makes me feel great, and like I've just eliminated one more chronic fish-killer from the world.
For reviews, my most rewarding moments were from three of my book reviews -- the three that garnered positive comments and thanks from their authors :). In one instance, the author even told me that she was glad I liked the book, but that it was her first effort and she's published much better books since then -- and sent me a copy of her newest, no strings attached :D.
Being published and/or referenced on an authoritative publication. Having a reporter contact me with more questions.
When my writing inspires people to add to the discussion that is very rewarding for me.
Being recognized as an expert by a well known magazine that asked for online content, or being known as a writer who gives quality content every time. It's a high unlike any other.
Two things; self-expression and the cash that follows. The fact that I am able to express my thoughts and at the same time getting paid for it is just so rewarding for me.
When I write my heart out, people read it and comment about it. They give their suggestions and comments. Its more rewarding to know that there are people who read words from the heart and feel it, rather than writing to a diary and closing it away.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
