Greed, laziness, and stupidity. The attitude that people think the world owes them something: Selfishness. Is anyone teaching the kids that they have to share this planet. Is anyone teaching the kids that if you do something wrong, you should expect to be caught.
Maybe a tour of the local jail will get their attention. The best way to lessen crime is to execute more people. I think that a violation of the public trust by an elected official should be considered treason.
Hang him. If a man will steal your money, he will steal your life. Its just a matter of degree.
I say hang him. A dollar's worth of rope cuts way down on repeat offenders. A lot of people don't realize that they are still alive because they aren't worth killing.
A corporate executive steals millions of dollars, a few from a lot of people, and gets a slap on the wrist. The thief needs to be strung up..
Will be drug trafficking (heard there's big money in this kind of business) and Stealing.... They would rather steal than go to work,, it's easier! .
Crime Ignorance and intolerance. Children are not taught to be tolerate of different people and their religions. Too much labeling and hateful names.
If something is stolen "must be a I don't believe children are born hate-filled,they are taught. We do not teach tolerance of other religions. We do not teach about other religions and how customs vary.
I have had adults ask me 'What do you do in your Jewish church". And 'you mean you really don't believe in Jesus'. It is astonishing to me how little some people know.
The the name calling is so cruel. It is no small wonder why people attack others because they are different, for their skin color, religion or just because of way they look or dress. Police can only do so much, they can't be everywhere.
I think it shout start in schools. If a unit was taught on other kinds of people in the world and all the different customs, foods, holiday observances, maybe children would grow up understanding we are all different and yet all the same. My son went to a school where there was a big mix of children from many different countries.
The school did a program on foods from "your country". My husband is from England so went made a tifle with a Union Jack on top. The children got to taste all the foods and hear much the same we all are as well as different. It was a good start.
Not sure what you mean by "crime for you" but I assume you mean you want an opinion Many of the violent crimes in this country are related to drugs--either directly or indirectly. I have read that the second biggest problem is family or romantic violence. There are many examples in some of the more progressive countries in the world that would help us decrease our murder rates and crimes related to getting money for drugs.
Just take the profit out of selling drugs. The government can set up programs where junkies can get their substance of choice free from a clinic. This effectively eliminates many of the most violent crimes--murder rates drop precipitously.
This also drops the rate of disease transfer from dirty needles. Some of the examples show that the majority of young adults that use drugs will stop on their own as they realize that they are wasting their lives. If we spend the money saved from all the police activities that wouldn't be necessary, we could educate our young people to the health and social risks of using drugs.
I know it sounds like we are making drugs legal and some picture a rampant increase in use. This has not happened in most of the countries that have gone this direction. If the education is done effectively, drug use declines dramatically over time.
Please look at what went on with prohibition and alcohol--the mafia gained a foothold in this country as a result of that move. When alcohol was made available, things improved--there is still abuse but the criminal element has dropped way off. Ideally, our society would be so good that people wouldn't be tempted to escape reality--however, human beings have been looking for ways to be happier or more spiritual forever--I don't see that ever going away.
Providing legal access to drugs is a method to minimize the activity of the criminals making those large sums of money. Perhaps we could even look at the war in Afghanistan. The bad guys are making money from their poppy crops to fund their activities.
If the value of their corps collapsed, so would their armies. Perhaps it's time to consider trying another way to decrease violent crime. Having good jobs and stable family lives would lead to less substance abuse.
We must move our country in a different direction to have less social unrest that will lead to lower crime rates--get out and vote.
I believe.....LACK OF MONEY is the primary cause of crime, the root of all evil... Because lots of people live below the poverty line, they suffer from hunger and illness. Most of them are found in shanties/squatter areas. Children from poor families lack education, proper nutrition, good conduct (as their poor parents have none as well) so they end up sniffing marijuanas or rugby along highways.
Here in Manila, there are lots of incidents of cell phone snatching, holdups, kidnapping, and we even have "akyat-bahay" gangs (people who sneaks into your house to get all they can). Law enforcers and policemen cannot resolve these crimes as most of the time, they are the "masterminds" - the people behind these crimes! Since the government cannot do anything about crimes, the only option would be for the upper and middle class to do their share and help others.
If only the rich ones can share at least 10% of their income to help the poor, or at least share their time and knowledge to each and everyone for everybody to learn how "to fish" and make money in the legal way; I guess Philippines would be a better place to live in. Amidst a nightmare of crime. Do you know where I might by this book?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
