I do many slow cooker recipes on my menu service during the cooler months! An easy one is Easy Italian Beef: Simply place a 3-4 lb. Roast that you've already browned in a little olive oil into your slow cooker, and pour a bottle of natural or organic Italian salad dressing over it, some sliced mushrooms and/or onions, and let it go 8-10 hours on low.
Too easy!
But probably my favorite thing is Pizza Stew (see the pattern here, LOL? ) Brown: 1 lb.Each Italian sausage (mild or hot) and hamburger Dump it in the pot, and add: 1/2 onion, chopped 1/2 green pepper, chopped (opt. ) 8 oz. Mushrooms, sliced (opt.) 8 oz.
Pepperoni 1 bottle pizza sauce 1/2 cup Parmesan Cover and set on low for 3 hours. After three hours, uncover and top it with: 1 1/2 cups mixed Italian blend cheeses, or 1 c. Mozzarella or Provolone with 1/2 c.
Parmesan, Romano or Asiago cheeses Cover again, and let it go another 45 minutes, until the top is bubbly and turning a crusty brown. I also do a Comfort Food Casserole my kids adore, which is just ground beef, chopped onions and turnips, and cream cheese with some spices. But the two Italian things above are our family's favorites.
I love pulled pork in the crock pot! 2 pound pork tenderloin 12 oz. Of root beer 1 bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce 8 hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted Just put the meat in the crock pot, pour the root beer over the top, and cook on low heat until the pork shreds easily, about 6 or 7 hours.
Drain well, stir in barbecue sauce and serve over hamburger buns. Eat it with a salad! Mel.
MY favorite crockpot recipe is to cook a roast, potatoes and carrots for the whole day. The roast and potatoes fall apart and the carrots are nice and soft. Add a small salad and some french bread and butter perfect dinner.

I like a nice Hungarian Goulash.... 2 pounds round steak, cubed 1 cup chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 2 tablespoons flour 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed 1 bay leaf 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can tomatoes 1 cup sour cream Put steak cubes, onion and garlic in a crockpot. Stir in flour and mix to coat steak cubes. Add all remaining ingredients EXCEPT sour cream.
Stir well. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours. Add sour cream 30 minutes before serving, and stir in thoroughly.
This is one of my own recipes that I've used for many years ( and varieties of it :) Pepper Turkey ( or Chicken but really nice with turkey ) Dice turkey meat into cubes, enough for each person and depends on the size of the pot. Coat the meat in seasoned flour and pan fry it to get a crispy coating. Set aside.
Fry up a couple of large onions and a handful of diced bacon till brown. If you have fresh sage use just a teaspoon as you fry, if its dried sage add a tablespoon to the mix. Put all these ingredients into the crock pot.
Now the really nifty bit :) You need a can ( or two ) of cream of chicken soup or cream of turkey soup and a small can of green peppercorns - best to use a can with lots of juice. Mix the can of soup with the same amount of milk and put into the crock pot - depending on how big the pot is you can add a bit of water to top it up or milk for a creamy dish! Depending on how hot you want the final dish you either add the peppercorns now and let them cook with the creamy sauce or add them about 1/2 hour before you serve it.
Either way its peppery hot and deliciously creamy and rich. Cook in the pot for a few hours and serve with either Roast potatoes and vegetables Mashed potato and vegies Pasta and grated tasty cheese on top Rice with spring onions as a garnish This is a easy one and you don't have to add the peppercorns. It's just as tasty without them :).
Oh yay, I love crockpot cooking! Just make sure your crock is about 2/3 full so that the food doesn't burn. For 4-6 servings, I usually use my 4 qt.
Crock pot. I love roasts, but since several people already posted those recipes, I'll post my Chicken & Cheese recipe: 6 chicken breasts, uncooked 1 can condensed Cream of Chicken soup 1 can condensed Nacho Cheese soup 1 can condensed Fiesta Cheese soup Garlic powder Salt Pepper Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste. In a bowl, mix together the three soups.
Layer a few chicken breasts in the crock and pour soup over them. Repeat until you are out of the chicken and soup. If you have extra soup, just pour it over the top of all the chicken.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve over rice or noodles.
Ok, Kalua Pig is a winner hands down! Super Easy and Super Mega tasty! And it's a traditional Hawaiian luau food.
Kalua Pig is ONO (Hawaiian for Delicious)! Kalua Pig - Only 4 Ingredients! A Pork Butt (however big you want as long as it fits in the crock pot) Water Salt (preferably Sea Salt) Liquid Smoke Put the pork butt in the crock pot.
Add about one inch of water to the crock pot. Cover liberally in sea salt. Pour about a tablespoon of liquid smoke over the pork butt.
Set to high, cover and cook about 4-5 hours (until the meat easily comes off the bones). Ladle out a little of the fat which is floating if desired. Take some big tongs and remove the butt roast, remove bone and overly fatty sections.
Take a couple of forks and shred the meat, and place back in the crock. Taste it and add more sea salt if needed. Add just a little bit of liquid smoke, and mix everything up.
Let it cook another half hour for best flavor. Kalua Pig is foolproof, and I'd say impossible to screw up. And with this recipe, you don't need to build a fire or dig holes in your backyard.
Also, I've never met anyone who doesn't like Kalua Pig. It always makes people happy! Enjoy :-).
Especially on a cold rainy day, I loved 'Black Eye Peas' smothered with some turkey tails Cook Time: 8 hours Ingredients: 1 pound dried black-eyed peas 1 large onion 2 large turkey tails (butts) 2 to 4 slices cooked bacon (can use heat 'n eat kind) 1 large onion 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, or use 1 fresh clove garlic, minced 1/2 teaspoon salt

Place turkey tails (butts), sliced onion, bacon, pepper, garlic and salt in the slow cooker/Crock Pot.Pour in 3 cups water. Cover and cook on HIGH until peas are tender and ready to go in. When peas are tender, transfer to the slow cooker/Crock Pot.
Reduce heat to LOW; cover and cook for 7 to 9 hours. Taste and adjust seasonings. Serve with hot cornbread.
Black-eyed pea recipe serves 6 to 8.
I love veggie soup with cornbread on a cold and rainy day! You will need to use all frozen veggies or all canned veggies; don't mix as one will cook faster than the other and your soup may turn to mush. Veggie Soup 1 cup sliced carrots 1 cup of diced potato 1 cup green beans 1 cup navy beans 1 cup okra sliced 1 cup corn kernels 1 small onion diced 1 large can diced tomatoes 1cup water 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1tsp hot sauce Salt & Pepper to taste (You may occasionally need to add a little more water as it cooks depending on how thick you like your soup.) Just pour all ingredients into the crockpot and set it to LOW.
Allow to cook at least 8 hours. If you prefer a meaty soup you can add 1 diced chicken breast or some diced beef at the beginning of the cooking process.
I have this crockpot cook book. And Oh, Em, Gee! Its amazing!
I cant pick just one! Theres a homemade chicken noodle soup recipe - and tells you how to make noodles from scratch... Also there is a chili recipe that is amazing... I cant pick! Don't make me pick!
2 pounds round steak, cubed 1 cup chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 2 tablespoons flour 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed 1 bay leaf 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can tomatoes 1 cup sour cream good luck.
I tried this amazing recipe from allrecipes for an Apple Crisp, it was absolutely delicious, and the first time I made a dessert in the crockpot: Ingredients * 1 cup all-purpose flour * 1/2 cup light brown sugar * 1/2 cup white sugar * 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon * 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg * 1 pinch salt * 1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces * 1 cup chopped walnuts * * 1/3 cup white sugar, or to taste * 1 tablespoon cornstarch * 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger * 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon * 6 cups apples - peeled, cored and chopped * 2 tablespoons lemon juice Directions 1. Mix flour, brown sugar, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt together in a bowl. Combine butter with the flour mixture using fingers or a fork until coarse crumbs form.
Stir in walnuts and set aside. 2. Whisk together 1/3 cup sugar, cornstarch, ginger, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Place the apples in a slow cooker, stir in the cornstarch mixture; toss with lemon juice. Sprinkle the walnut crumb topping on top. Cover and cook on gh for 2 hours or Low for 4 hours, until apples are tender.
Partially uncover the slow cooker to allow the topping to harden, about 1 hour. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Slow-Cooker-Apple-Crisp/Detail.aspx As others have suggested, add some oatmeal to the crumb mixture, it makes a great difference!
The easiest crock pot recipe is bbq chicken. Chicken + BBQ sauce + 4 hours = mmm mmm good.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
