What kind of country suppresses the voice of millions of Americans who don't believe in the racial equality BS?

Yes, Numbers give you something pretty to look at. But as we learn in sociology, numbers can be compromised in all kind of ways. So the theory about data that you think matters-really doesnt.

Because at the end of the day, until you are placed in those shoes, you have no idea. Numbers are jsut something that makes us feel better about taking a guess. As an african american female living in detroit michgan I can personally answer question with a Yes and No.

Why? I believe that I have an advantage. I live in a one parent household.

Not in a good area by the way, and due to the economy and how hard it is to make a living, I don't pay for my education. Through grants and financial aid of course and My older brother has received several scholarships to highly recognized universities. Me, I decided to go to community college first because it is chepaer, but the fact that I won't have to pay out of pocket (maybe for books) is a blessing and a EXTREME advantage for me.

I say No, because of "numbers". Numbers tell us that minorities don't "feel" like they have equal opportunities, But that could be for many reasons. Maybe they are not educated in what opportunities they do have.

Maybe its because of Media, politics, etc. The numbers tell us that what they believe, but they don't tell us why. I don't think affirmative action is degrading. I think PEOPLE make it degrading.

Personally I've seen it, I've seen people in my neighborhood live dangerous lives, quit school, get on drugs etc. ALL because they think they have no chance. Why? Because thats what "numbers" tells them.

Bottom line. We all have the same opportunities. You just have to know they're there.

My answer is getting a little lengthy lol but its soooooo much more deeper than this. Its a culture thing and it goes back; way back.

Part of reaching racial equality is learning to accept you have it when it's there.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
