What sounds more credible: the false 1914 prophecy of the jehovah witness OR?

Based off of my own study what makes one a false prophet and some of their early writings where it appears they are saying what wa spublished was not from man but straight from God, then yes they have had false prophecies. "In all his (Russell's) warnings he claimed no originality. He said that he could never have written his books himself.

It all came from God, through the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit." (Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 7, p. 387.) "This chronology is not of man, but of God.

Being of divine origin and divinely corroborated, present-truth chronology stands in a class by itself, absolutely and unqualifiedly correct...." (Watchtower, July 15, 1922) "The writer does not give his opinion. No human interpretation of scripture is advanced." (Reconciliation, 1928, p. 6) The Watchtower is not the instrument of any man or set of any of men, nor is it published according to the whims of men.

No man's opinion is expressed in the Watchtower. (Watchtower, Nov. 1 1931 p. 327) "Today the children of Zion need no extraneous proof that the spiritual food and understanding of the prophecies they have comes from God.

They know that no man or men could provide such food. No man or men on earth attempt to lay claim that lay of these truths proceed from man. (Watchtower, Oct. 1, 1931, p.

328) with these above quotes in mind, let the reader be the judge on the following quotes. "In this chapter we present the Bible evidence proving that the full end of the times of the gentiles, i.e. , the full end of their lease of dominion, will be reached in A.D. 1914; and that the date will be the farthest limit of the rule of imperfect men.

And be it observed, that if this is shown to be a fact firmly established by the Scriptures, it will prove; Firstly, that at that date the Kingdom of God, for which our Lord taught us to pray, saying, Thy Kingdom come, will obtain full, universal control, and that it will then be set up, or firmly established, in the earth, on the ruins of present institutions." (The Time Is At Hand, 1888, p. 76, 77) "Be not surprised, then, when in subsequent chapters we present proofs that the setting up of the Kingdom of God is already begun, that it is pointed out in prophecy as due to begin the exercise of power in A.D. 1878, and that the 'battle of the great day of God Almighty (Rev. 16:14) which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced. The 1915 Edition of this texts changed "A.D. 1914" to read 'A.D. 1915') "In the coming 26 years, all present governments will be overthrown and dissolved." (C.T. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
