Whats wrong with the sound on my computer. Playing music is like listening to a scratched record. Please help.. About 6 months ago, I had a new motherboard and processor installed.

I have noticed that the computer isn't quite running as fast as it used to but just recently the sound has annoyingly started playing up. It sounds like a scratched record when I play it through Windows media player and also anything else from the internet etc the sound keeps skipping or slowing down. I regularly scan the computer for viruses, defrag, disc clean up, delete temp files etc but this still hasn't fixed it.

Sometimes you can just unplug and plug your speakers in again. But it's likely a driver issue. If you did some Windows Updates, and loaded an audio driver from MS that often mucks it up.

Always get audio and video drivers from the hardware vendors website. Figure out what driver you need and reinstall it. If you use the onboard sound, you can reload the chipset drivers..

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
