When and where was the first film shot about Pink Floyd?

Pink Floyd went through a period where they were collaborating with film directors, performing scores for obscure movies like The Valley and More. They were also featured in beat album soundtracks like Zabriski Point and Tonight Let's All Make Love In London. They were very cutting edge during their time and working with film scores fit nicely with their psychedelic sound.

The first real Pink Floyd movie was a documentary titled Pink Floyd Live from Pompeii. The band was in the process of recording basic tracks for Dark Side of the Moon, and they had recently released the 1971 classic album Meddle, which is featured prominently in the movie. They set up their equipment inside the coliseum and filmed performances of tracks like Echoes, Saucerful of Secrets, and Set The Controls for the Heart of the Sun.

The big pink pig balloon came about as part of their stage show to support the 1977 album Animals.
