When is the best time to avoid the crowds at Independence Hall?

Although Independence Hall is free, visitors need tickets, which are often gone by mid-morning during the prime summer tourist season. Visitors can avoid the crowds at Independence Hall with Independence After Hours, an evening emersion tour into Colonial life run by Once Upon A Nation. The ticket includes dinner at historic City Tavern, followed by a rare, private visit to Independence Hall.

Once inside, visitors watch as several founding fathers engage in a discussion about the Declaration of Independence. The evening ends with Lights of Liberty, a sound and light show in Independence National Historical Park. The tour departs from the Independence Living History Center and runs through October 31.
